Luke sure knows how to make an entrance! He was born at 34 weeks gestation on August 5. He weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce and was 17.5 inches long. His mama, my little sister Missy, told me early that day that she didn’t feel well. She described the pain like cramps in her back. Being the nagging sister I am, I tried to convince Missy to call her doctor. She told me she was fine. HA!
By a little after midnight, Missy texted me to tell me her back pains were 3 minutes apart. I got a call at approximately 12:45 AM informing me that Missy was 10 cm dilated and Luke was breech. So, an emergency c-section was done.
Luke needed a breathing tube and a feeding tube for the first few days, but otherwise, he seems great! He did just fail his cold stress test, so his coming home date has been pushed back a little further. We’re okay with that, as long as Luke is being well cared for. Once he is home, be ready for lots and lots of photos. :)
