When hubby and I were first married, I was given a set of pots and pans at my bridal shower. I am embarrassed to admit that I have used that same cookware for the past 18 years.

For a long time, using old cookware didn't bother me because I didn't like to cook. I hadn't really used it all that much, really. However, in the past couple of years, I find myself in the kitchen more and more. I am actually beginning to enjoy cooking.

The more I cook, the more painfully obvious it is to me that our cookware is in great need of an update. (Imagine beat-up, stained pots and pans.) Too bad for me that quality cookware is very expensive. So, I have been buying new cookware piece by piece.

{My review}
When I first took the skillet out of the box, I noticed how heavy it was. It definitely does not look like any skillet I have ever used before. It is heavy duty, thick ceramic. The color is a sleek black. It almost looks too nice to use! :)

I appreciate that the skillet is nonstick. When I first read about that, I wasn't convinced that is was true. However, I can tell you that is is definitely nonstick because I have put it to the test over and over again.

Typically, nonstick cookware must be washed by hand. Not so with the Xtrema cookware. I can safely use a brillo pad on my skillet and it won't do any damage. I can tell you from experience that the Xtrema ceramic cookware cannot be scratched by metal utensils or industrial steel wool. That's impressive!

Another fabulous quality of the Xtrema skillet is its versatility. I have been able to use my skillet on the stove top, in the oven, and right on our gas grill. Honestly, the 10" open skillet is my go-to, most-used item when it comes to cooking. I would love to own more of the Xtrema products.
I would recommend Xtrema cookware to anyone looking for high quality, versatile, eco-friendly cookware.
