Review~ iQ The Smarter Cleaner

In our home, cleaning is a chore nobody likes. Even so, it has to be done, right. As a mom who wants to use the safest products possible when it comes to cleaners, laundry detergent, and so forth, I pride myself in really doing my research. Additionally, I can say I have used many different products in my quest for ones which are healthy for my home, my family, my pets, and our environment. In my search, I stumbled upon a product line called iQ The Smarter Cleaner by The Planet People.

{About iQ}
At Planet People we believe that you shouldn’t have to choose between a clean home and a clean planet. That’s why all Planet People products are high performance cleaning solutions made from 100% non-toxic and ecologically sustainable ingredients that pose no harm to users or the environment.

The Planet People offered to send me a sampling of their products to try in my home so that I could see for myself why their products are so great. When my packaged arrived, I was a bit confused. I saw three empty spray bottles and three corresponding cartridges. Upon further examination, I read that after adding water to the fill line on the bottles, the cylinder cartridges slide up onto the nozzle. As I twisted the spray nozzle onto the bottle, I could actually see the cleaning solution release into the water. (This was so simple, my son did two of the cartridges himself.) Genius! Once I realized how to use the cleaners, I was able to fully appreciate all of the benefits the cleaners have. First, the plastic containers are reusable. That means less waste for the environment. Once the cleaner has been depleted, I simply purchase a small refill cartridge.

The first of the cleaners I tried is iQ's All Purpose Cleaner. I absolutely the the light green tea scent. Another great feature of this product for me is how wonderfully it cleans my stovetop- even cooked on foods cleaned right up, and left the finish on the stovetop streak-free!

{About the All Purpose Cleaner}
Surfaces it cleans: Countertops, stainless steel, appliances, fixtures, furniture and any other surface not normally harmed by water.
Ingredients: Coconut derived surfactant, sodium gluconate, baking soda, potassium hydrate, fragrance, colouring, preservative, and water.

The next cleaner I tested is iQ's Glass Cleaner. This is the best glass cleaner I have ever used. Honestly. I have used many different glass cleaners, and even tried the vinegar and newspaper idea, but none left my windows and mirrors as streak and cloudy free as this one. With the iQ Glass Cleaner, I didn't have to put too much elbow grease into getting my windows clean, something anyone who dislikes cleaning windows as much as I do can appreciate!

{About the Glass Cleaner}
Surfaces it cleans: Windows, glass, mirrors, stainless steel and other surfaces not normally harmed by water.
Ingredients: Corn and coconut derived surfactants, fragrance, colouring, and water.

The final cleaner I tested is iQ's Bathroom Cleaner. This one has a great scent too- nectarine plum. I really like how this cleaner works on hard water stains and soap scum. I did have to spray the hard water stains twice, but they came clean, and that's what's important!

{About the Bathroom Cleaner}
Surfaces it cleans: Ceramic and porcelain tiles, bathroom fixtures, stainless steel, fibreglass, laminate, porcelain and more. (Not for use on marble)
Ingredients: Coconut derived surfactant, sugar-based acid, fragrance, colouring, preservative, and water.

iQ also offers a floor cleaner, but I did not test that one. According to their website, the floor cleaner works on hardwood, tile, laminate, stone and any other type of hard flooring not normally harmed by water.

{Cost}
iQ Cleaners are available nationally in Canada at your local Wal-mart & Loblaws stores; and also at a growing number of regional retailers across the U.S. and Canada. I found the cleaners on drugstore.com as well. The initial cost for the bottle and cleaning solution on drugstore.com is $3.99. Refills of the cleaning solution are $2.99.

{Bottom Line}
I definitely recommend the iQ cleaners! Not only are they simple to use, they are also great smelling. All of the products I tested worked great! The ingredients are nontoxic, so even my sons can use the cleaners safely. I also appreciate that with the use of refillable containers, iQ cleaners are helping to reduce the carbon footprint.

If you were to add more water than the fill line would that help to extend its life or say you were cleaning something delicately would it help to disperse the cleaning amount more or would that mess it up?
