Kokopax Samantha Diaper Bag~ Review

I have been a fan of Kokopax for years. As a mom, it's hard not to be because their products are not only functional and well-constructed, but fun and fashionable too. One Kokopax product I am especially fond of is my Samantha tote. Typically used as a diaper bag, the Samantha tote is stylish enough for me to carry as an everyday bag- especially since I am known to carry huge handbags.
I own the Samantha tote in the Watson pattern, but I have to admit that choosing one pattern was difficult because all the prints are beautiful! This tote has everything a mom wants in a diaper bag- roomy interior, durable fabric, matching changing pad, plenty of pockets and compartments, striking leather accents, and a large magnetic clasp for easy closure (which is especially important when you have baby on one hip, a toddler pulling at the hem of your skirt, and a Caribou latte in your hand that you are trying desperately not to spill as you are reaching for the ringing cell phone inside the tote). Made by a brand I have become to rely upon for their modern, yet functional products, my Samantha tote by Kokopax is my go-to bag. (I even use it to carry library books and school papers.)
{Features}
*made of 100% cotton canvas
*durable nylon lining
*three deep convenient pockets
*separate zipper pocket
*bottle/beverage compartment
*dimensions:  18” x 5” x 14”
*Retails for $99.99
Inside the Samantha tote, you’ll find three pouches, a zippered pocket, a drink compartment and a diaper mat with the Kokopax monkey logo. Honestly, it is perfection except for perhaps the needed addition of a front zippered pocket where I could stash my cell phone and car keys for easier access. Seriously, I love this tote. With all the different pattern choices, there's sure to be one for every mom's personal taste.

REVIEW: Layla Grayce- Serena and Lily

I have a confession to make. I love huge handbags. The bigger the better. Sometimes I use diaper bags as handbags. My newest favorite bag is the Gypsy Tote by Serena and Lily.
gypsy
I was given the greatest pleasure of reviewing this tote for Layla Grayce. After using it for several weeks, I can honestly say that there isn’t a flaw in this bag at all. The tote is fully loaded with pockets, one of my favorite features, which makes this the perfect bag for busy moms.
The strap on this great tote is wide and adjustable. I am able to comfortably wear it on my shoulder or across my body. I loaded it up with water bottles, an umbrella, rain ponchos, and other mom necessities and carried it with me for a week through the Disney parks without any discomfort.
My sister is quite envious of the Gypsy Tote and is hinting she wants one as a gift for her baby shower. After close examination of the bag, she said that in addition to all the terrific pockets, she appreciated the wipeable interior of the bag. She borrowed the tote and filled it with a changing pad, diapers, wiped, pacifiers, baby toys, a clutch, and snacks. She remarked that the depth of the tote seemed never-ending. Even after stuffing it full of items, it still didn’t look bulky. I think I will need to make sure she receives one soon (very soon, considering Luke was born six weeks early!)!
I adore all the little details on the Gypsy Tote- from the blue leather button closure to the beautiful embroidery on the front of the bag.
Here is the information about this beautiful bag from the Layla Grayce website:
The one-bag-holds-all solution for the one-mom-does-all lifestyle, this gorgeous Gypsy Tote was created by (and for) Serena when she couldn't find the perfect "un"diaper bag. It's got a pocketgypsy 2 for everything. It hangs perfectly over a stroller handle. It scrunches up to fit inside another bag. It's machine washable and wipeable. But best of all, it's modular design means it's only a diaper bag when you want it to be, so it looks amazing through the bottle-and-binky years and beyond. Beautiful flax linen with leather detailing and hand-embroidery inspired by the design of Serena and Lily's original Prague Collection Market Sling. Leather disk/button closure for easy access. Adjustable strap for a perfect fit. Machine washable. Interior is also wipeable. Consider adding the coordinating brag book or diaper changing pad.
  • 16.75" W x 22" H
  • Flax/Sky Blue
If you are a mom or know a mom who is looking for a classy diaper bag, or if you don’t have little one but love big handbags, the Serena and Lily Gypsy Tote is a must-have! Purchase one now from Layla Grayce. (Be sure to check out all of the gorgeous items they offer. You won’t be disappointed!)
Thanks Layla and Grayce and Serena and Lily for this great review opportunity!

Cuddling Baby Mei Tai Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for entering!*

Babywearing is a topic that is very important to me. I have posted several reviews of slings and wraps, and have stated numerous times that I believe that babywearing is beneficial to both baby and momma for many reasons.

When you make the decision to wear your baby, you need to find the product that is most comfortable to you- whether it be a sling, wrap, pouch or carrier.

My sister and I have tried many different products, and one we highly recommend is the Cuddling Baby Mei Tai carrier.

The Cuddling Baby Mei Tai carrier is comfortable and very well made. When wearing Abigail in it, I was impressed by the way the carrier evenly distributed her weight so that I didn't feel an uncomfortable dig in my shoulders or a strain on my back. The padding is more than adequate, and overall, the carrier feels secure when wearing it in all of the possible positions- front, side and back.

I asked Vonnie, the owner of Cuddling Baby, to provide a little more information for my readers. Read on for what she has to say:

As a SAHM and Home schooling mom I decided to make and sell these carriers after attempting to find a good carrier on line that was within my budget for a friend as a shower gift. I have been making and selling Cuddling Baby Mei Tai Asian Style Baby carriers for about 4 years now and have designed these carriers from my own experience with them and the help of some members from of a few Attached Parenting Groups.

I am a huge believer in Attached Parenting and feel that it is the best thing that you can do for your baby. Wearing your baby gives them the security of being close to you that is needed in a babies growth, learning and development.

Cuddling Baby has been in business for over four years and doing business primarily on the web and taking special orders from local baby stores in my area. I have heard from many wearers saying that They loved their carriers and that I needed to open a website and get things moving, Since I have two younger girls and feel that devoting myself to them, by being a stay at home mom and home schooling mom, I needed to find something that I could do at home and be with them. Read a review of the fabulous Mei Tai here and Visit Cuddling Baby at http://www.cuddlingbaby.com/, www.etsy.com and www.mommyauctions.com!

Cuddling Baby Mei Tais are available in many different fabrics. Another huge benefit of this carrier is the outstanding price. Vonnie sells these carriers anywhere from $22.00 to $34.00. That's a steal! You can't beat that price for the superb quality and comfort the Cuddling Baby Mei Tai offers.

Here's an added bonus as well. Vonnie informed me of a great sale she is offering right now. This is the information from her website:

You might notice that I have marked down all of my carriers.
We have moved into a new home and discovered that I have way
too much inventory, so I am going to continue this clearance
for a little while longer to get my instock inventory down some.

I have decided to run the free shipping special for as long as it takes to
sell 100 carriers. I will keep everyone posted as to the current count and when I reach 100, I will have reduced my inventory that will make it more managable and at that time, I will end this sale and prices will return to
normal.

Currently sold on sale since 1/25/09 - 92 / 100

My advice for you? HURRY! Get yourself one of these carriers while you can at this incredible price! You will not regret your purchase.

a new baby!!

I am so excited to tell you that my sister is pregnant! I am thrilled. I love being an aunt. :) Now Jake is asking for us to have another baby too. Silly boy! I explained to him that for now, we will live vicariously though his aunt.

At any rate, this means I will be expanding the reviews on my blog to include pregnancy/maternity. I will continue to review all the great types of products I have been reviewing; this just adds something new to the mix. :)

Sleepy Wrap Review and Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed. Thank you for entering!*

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am a big advocate of baby wearing. The benefits for both momma and baby are numerous. Baby is nestled close to momma, where he or she wants to be. Baby cries less. Momma has her hands free to do other tasks such as caring for older children. Momma and baby are happy. Those are only some of the many benefits to baby-wearing.

Recently, I had the opportunity to review an amazing product called the Sleepy Wrap. Originally when I was offered to be sent one to review, I was thinking I'd be the one to wear Abigail. However, an arm injury has prevented me from doing so. Therefore, I had my sister test out the Sleepy Wrap for me. She loves it! She is especially happy with how comfortable it is to wear- no straps digging into her body. She said that Abigail feels completely snug and safe in the Sleepy Wrap, as well. Upon first taking it out of the package, I was worried that we would never figure out how to use it, but the instuctions are simple to follow. When she was putting the Sleepy Wrap on, I was impressed by the quality of the product; the Sleepy Wrap is made with a fantactically soft fabric with a bit of spandex in it to keep Abigail snug.

From the Sleepy Wrap website:

The Sleepy Wrap baby carrier securely holds your little one close to you. Our baby wrap is specially designed for your baby's first year of life, yet you may comfortably carry your baby for as long as you both desire. Time and time again you will find your baby sleeping peacefully against your chest.

There are many different hands-free baby carriers to choose from. Yet, carrying your baby in a Sleepy Wrap will make a difference in your babywearing experience. Here are some of the reasons-

*gives great support for little heads and necks -especially when your baby falls asleep

*your baby fits just perfectly every time! -no guessing how much room you will need to leave for you baby to fit inside without being too tight or too loose

*custom fit- simply tie the wrap carrier snug against your body and no matter what body type you are, it will fit!

*good quality fabric -heavier cotton knit with a touch of spandex-the ideal material for babywearing

*discreet nursing is no problem -no need to take the baby out of the wrap baby carrier or use any special attachments for privacy

*your baby’s hips and legs are supported and not just hanging down

*no pressure points on your baby -no pressure on developing hips or spines like other hard baby carriers which place pressure on your baby’s pelvis

*holds your baby high -the fabric bounces back unlike the t-shirt like material of other stretchy baby wraps to keep your baby snug against your chest

*durable -sturdy fabric that doesn’t stretch out or change shape with repeated washing or babywearing

*feels soft on your baby’s skin

*adjustable -just enough give so that there is no need for readjusting

*much more snug than a car seat or other bulky carrier

*grows with you and your baby -it's optimal for infants yet you may continue to carry your baby with this wrap baby carrier as long as you are both comfortable

*no baby is too small -the baby wrap is designed for the tiniest of babies. See our FAQ page.

*ideal for kangaroo care - premature infants thrive when wrapped in a Sleepy Wrap

*one size fits all -adults of all sizes can comfortably wear and share the wrap

*bilateral -wide straps over both shoulders so that there is no lopsided feeling like with babywearing in a sling

*no time limit to how long your baby can stay in the wrap -there are no pressure points on mom or baby so you may carry your baby as long as you and your baby are comfortable

*no digging straps or poking buckles or buttons -simple design

*evenly distributes the weight of your baby-much more supported than carrying with your arms, on one shoulder, or your hip

*instructions are included -no extras to buy

*perfect for traveling -compact and great on uneven terrain or crowded places

*cleans up nice -wash, tumble dry and go!

*comfortable -moves with you instead of restricting you

*affordable- a great value seeing that your baby will probably begin to walk on his own before he outgrows the wrap

*natural sleep solution -no plastic, no music, no bouncy seat-just you- calming and soothing your baby with your warmth, your voice, your scent, your movement and your heartbeat. There is no more natural way to put your baby to sleep.

Bottom Line:
I highly recommend the Sleepy Wrap for its quality construction, ease of use, and affordable price ($38.95)

Rockin' Baby Sling Review and GIVEAWAY

**This giveaway is closed. Thank you for entering.**

Baby wearing is something I strongly support. The benefits for both mama and baby are numerous. Baby is nestled close, where he or she wants to be. Baby cries less. Baby is a happy. Mama has her hands free to do other tasks. Mama and baby bond better. Those are only some of the many benefits to baby-wearing.

When I had Jacob, (oh, let’s not say how many years ago), I carried him quite a bit in a sling after someone recommended we try it due to him being a colicky little guy. Back then, color and pattern choices were limited- at least for what I could find, so I carried my baby boy in a pastel alphabet-patterned sling. Cute, but not cool. Not by a long shot. Then, there was the comfort factor. My sling lacked in that area as well. I sure wish that Rockin’ Baby Sling had been around then. No doubt, I would have been one heck of a hip mama sporting one of their slings!

A Rockin’ Baby Sling is for the hip mama who wants the benefits of carrying her baby comfortably and looking good at the same time. Natasha and Lisa sent me the “Somebody to Love” reversible sling to try. My 11 month-old, 22 pound niece Abigail loves it! She snuggles in, and she smiles and babbles to us while her mama carries her and takes care of the other kids, does the dishes, and shops at the mall. Better yet, it is comfortable to do all of these things while carrying her! My sister reports that her shoulders and back don’t bother her one bit. I think she looks pretty darn hip wearing the pink, white, black and purple sling as well! I would say the only (very minor) drawback we found to the sling was the length of the tails. My sister is a short little thing (sorry, Missy!), so any sling would be long on her. The upside of this is that Rockin’ Baby Sling offers to shorten your sling for a mere $8.00, or if you prefer, you can purchase one of their Rockin’ Baby Sling pouches.

Bottom Line:• We highly recommend this sling for its comfort, quality construction, ease of use and ultra-cool style!
• The Rockin’ Baby Sling can be worn in five different carrying positions, and it’s reversible!
• The Rockin’ Baby Sling is adjustable and has a tail with a pocket that can be used to cover up while nursing. The pocket is an added bonus for when you need to carry a few items and don’t want to have to lug around your diaper bag.
Rockin’ Baby Sling slings and pouches come in many styles and colors; there’s something to suit everyone’s inner rock star. :)
