Are you the type of person who is always cold? Like, need-a-sweater-all-the-time-cold? I admit I have a hard time relating to you because I am just the opposite. (Probably has something to do with menopause. Ugh)

Anyway, my cousin Judy is definitely an always cold person. She carries a sweater with her everywhere. She bundles up big time when she's at my house since I keep the furnace a wee bit low. :) Recently we went to breakfast together and she remarked about the inconvenience of having to carry that bulky sweater with her all the time. I mentioned that she needed a lightweight option, and I was certain I had just the thing for her.

When we got to my house, I gave her a gorgeous, soft lacy shawl that I received in the mail from HomeCraftTreasures. She loved it immediately. Not only is the shawl beautiful, but is also lightweight and still managed to keep her warm. Score!

The delicate shawl doubles as a scarf and is made with Department 71 Dainty Lace mohair yarn. It is bordered with 15 crocheted flowers and edged with Solomon's Knot rows that are tipped with cluster stitches. The combination of chain, single, double, double treble, long double crochet and cluster stitches give this shawl and airy, elegant look.

So long messy purse! Pouchee Purse Organizer~ Review and Giveaway

Until recently, my purse has been a hot mess! Really. I love a big handbag (One look in my closet at my huge handbag collection would prove that!), but I'll tell you, the bigger the bag, the more junk I throw in it. Then, I get frustrated because I can't find anything. Just the other day I needed my chapstick. (My lips were killing me, so the chapstick was a must!) Anyway, I knew it was in my purse; I remembered putting it in there the day before when we were Christmas shopping. Even so, I spent ten minutes and ended up dumping my entire purse contents on the kitchen counter before I found that chapstick. Ugh.

Then, the mailman brought me a wonderful package. Inside was the Pouchee Purse Organizer. Amen! I couldnt wait to try it out! Once again, I dumped the contents of my puse, but this time I was happy to do it! I spent some time trying different configurations of how best to organize my stuff. In the end, I decided to keep my wallet and use the card slots for gift cards, my library card, and my school ID. The Pouchee is lined inside with a soft material that is cleanable with a damp cloth. It is chock full of pockets for my lipgloss, cell phone, compact, pens, notebook, sunglasses, and so much more. I really love the decorative rings so that I can easily lift the Pouchee out of my purse. Even so, it is so cute and functional that I can carry it as a stylish little clutch bag, especially since the Pouchee Plus comes with a detachable purse strap. There are just so may wonderful uses for my Pouchee, but you know what I love best? Jambu sent me a pair of black Valencia boots to review. This boot is one of the many styles available in the Jambu Sporty-Wedge design.

This bootie is a perfect transitional shoe. The sleek design and attention to details makes it stylish as well as practical and comfortable. The exposed stitching and imprint design on the front, combined with the imprint detailing on the heel and fur trim makes is a great looking shoe. A zipper on the inside of the boot allows for an easy closure system. The Valencia comes in black and brown.


{My Review}
As soon as I saw the Valencia boots, I liked them! The design is fun and stylish. The faux-fur trim is my favorite detail, as it is not only super-cozy, but extremely hip too (a fact this 41 year-old mom can still very much appreciate!). I also like the contrast stitching. It adds flair without being too flashy.

I have been wearing my boots for about a week, and honestly, I can tell you that these are THE most comfortable shoes I have EVER owned! I ordered a size 7, which is what I normally wear, and they fit perfectly, even with a thicker sock. There is plenty of wiggle room in the toe box which makes me happy as I really dislike squished toes.

Though casual, the Valencia boot is also versatile. I love that I can wear these boots with jeans or with my casual black pants that I sometimes wear to work. Speaking of work, I want to add that as a teacher, I am on my feet ALL DAY. I need a shoe that is comfortable. This is a must. The Valencia boots are perfect for work because after standing and walking in them for eight straight hours, I felt no discomfort at all. I am not sure if that is because of the wedge design of the heel or because of the extra cushioning in the boots which is actually a memory foam insole. Whatever the reason, I am sold that these shoes are simply the best shoe for my feet. Period.

The real bonus feature of any Jambu shoe is the fact that they are eco-friendly. I like knowing that my Valencia boots are made of partially recycled materials. Wearing Jambu shoes is just one more step I can take toward living a more earth-friendly life.

Delicate Soles Review and Giveaway

Shoes are one of my favorite things. I could spend hours in a shoe store trying on different styles, wishing I could buy one of everything! Lately, I have fallen head over heels in love with heels! Seriously. Wearing them makes me feel sexy. tall. powerful.

Seventh Generation Healthy Home Starter Kit Review and Giveaway

As a mom with two active kids with allergies, a husband who spends a lot of time outdoors, and two shedding cats, I need to clean my house often. When the boys were younger, I worried about the harsh chemicals found in so many of the leading cleaning product brands. So, I mixed my own cleaning solutions. This was effective (at least I thought so), but it was also very time consuming. Even so, I continued to make my own cleaning solutions because of my concern for the kids' safety and our family's health,

Not too long ago, I came across a post on a blog that featured eco-friendly cleaning products made by Seventh Generation. Curious to learn more (and excited that perhaps I may not have to take the time to make my own products any longer!), I checked out their website and was impressed. I contacted them, and they offered to send me some products that I could try for myself.

I was sent the Healthy Home Starter Kit to try out. It came packed with lots of natural cleaning goodness!

As you can see from my photo, there are nine cleaners, one roll of natural paper towels, and a nifty Seventh Generation carrying tote in this kit. Breaking it down further, there are three disinfecting cleaners, each of which effectively kills 99.99% of germs naturally. They are also effective in protecting against Influenza A Virus.

All items in the kit fit nicely inside the carrying tote which makes it so much easier to store the products when I am not using them.

The kit arrived just in time for the cleaning of our house prior to the boys' birthday party. The first product I tried was the Natural All Purpose Cleaner. This product is from the Free and Clear line of products which means it is free of dyes and fragrances. This is fantastic for cleaning patio tables and chairs. We had some plastic chairs that we haven't used since last summer, and this cleaner worked very well at removing old dirt and grime on the chairs after being stored for a year in the garage. It even worked to get some grease off the grill! I also used this cleaner on the outside of my kitchen appliances, and it worked great! My husband has claimed the Natural All Purpose Cleaner for use on his golf clubs. (I'll let you know how that works out!)

The Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner was the next product we tried, and currently, the product that is used most in our house. This is my go-to for kitchen cleaning. It works great on my countertops! In the bathrooms, this cleaner is fantastic for cleaning the outside of my tub. I have found it perfect for cleaning the pedestal sinks as well. Considering that I am a mom of boys, I find this cleaner to be PERFECT for quick cleaning of the outside of the toilet and the floor around it given that the boys are not always accurate and careful when they use the toilet. :)

The Disinfecting Wipes are perfect for use with sticky spills and messes that don't require breaking out a sponge and bottle of cleaner. I have used them when the boys spill sweet tea on the hardwoord floor, or juice on the kitchen tile, and they work great.

I absolutely love the Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner! After I spray it, it foams up,so I know it is working to clean and kill germs. I use this cleaner in the sink and the outside of the toilet. I like to use this cleaner on the wall behind and beside the sink too because my boys always manage to get toothpaste there. I haven't had any problems using it on the painted wall.

The Free and Clear Natural Glass and Surface Cleaner is another product we use quite a bit. (I use it with the 100% Recycled Paper Towels which are heavy-duty and quite absorbent.) I am happy to report that this glass cleaner leaves my windows clean and streak free!

The Tub and Tile Cleaner- Emerald Cypress & Fir and the Shower Cleaner are two products that now that I have been using them for awhile, cannot imagine cleaning without! The Tub and Tile Cleaner is amazing at removing soap scum, and it smells so good too! The scent lingers for awhile, and I love that. :) I use the Shower Cleaner daily, as it helps prevent mold and mildew. This one smells heavenly too!

The Toilet Bowl Cleaner works effectively at cleaning the toilet and ridding it of any streaks and stains. This cleaner smells just like the Tub and Tile Cleaner. It is a great scent. It's almost relaxing. Imagine that! Relaxing while cleaning your bathroom. )

I love the Seventh Generation products I received! I plan to use them for all my household cleaning needs from now on. How wonderful it is to be able to clean without all those overpowering, unnatural chemicals filling the air and making it difficult to breathe!
