Neutrogena UltraSheer Liquid Daily Sunblock {Review}

My family and I tend to spend a lot of time outdoors, especially in the summer months. We go to the pool, zoo, vacations, baseball games, picnics, and so much more. One of the things I carry with me everywhere we go is sunscreen, and we slather it on every hour.

My little sister was diagnosed with melanoma several years ago, and seeing what she has had to endure, I have promised myself that I will do my best to protect my family from the dangers that the sun can cause. Therefore, we tend to spend a fortune on high spf sunscreen.

One of my biggest gripes about sunscreen is that it tends to be greasy and sticky. Sprays don't seem to work very well at providing great, even coverage. Sunscreen sticks get yucky to deal with after a couple of uses too.

It was an extremely hot and humid day in the sun, and at the end of the day, my face and neck did not burn at all.

The SPF for the Neutrogena Ultrasheer is 70, which is fantastic for my fair skin which tends to burn easily. I have also used the sunscreen on my sons and have had the exact same results. That makes me a very happy momma.

Well, summer may be winding down to an end, but I refuse to waste these beautiful days in the sun worrying about school starting soon. I absolutely love using lucky legs cooling serum! Wow! Talk about a treat for the legs. It's a spa treatment without ever leaving the house. Truly.

The serum leaves a slight shimmer on my legs which I thing looks great. Currently, my legs are a bit tanned, so the serum is really bringing out the gorgeous color.

I have used the serum after a day at the pool and really like how much the serum relaxes my legs. (I do think the scent works like aromatherapy for tired legs too!) I have also used mama mio lucky legs after spending time touring San Francisco. When I used it right before bed, the achiness went away. When used in the morning or afternoon, the serum gives my legs new life, so to speak, so I can keep going. I am also looking forward to using it for calming relief after long days on my feet as a teacher (even though I do NOT want to think about going back to school yet!).

When my package arrived in the mail from Chocolate Lotus, I was in the midst of running errands. Even so, I opened the box and was immediately disappointed that I wouldn't have time right then to test the product. I set it aside for later that evening.

The second time I used the masque, I mixed the powder with milk and used only 1 1/2 tablespoons. This consistency was much easier to work with, even though I still dribbled some on my shirt. :) I found that my face was even softer the second time around. I am not sure if it was because of the milk or continued use of the product. I am going to try it with rice milk next week.

Review: ecoTOOLS

Well, it's no secret that I love a good pampering. :) Is there a woman who doesn't? ecoTOOLS sent me the Polished and Protected Body Scrub and the EcoPouf to review. Oh. My. Goodness! The scrub is heavenly! My skin feels and looks so much smoother and healthier since I have started using it. I wouldn't say it's glowing, but it's pretty darn close to glowing! :) The ecoPouf is gentle, yet very effective at exfoliating my skin. I did find, however, that the best time for me to use the scrub is in the morning or after a workout because of how refreshing the scrub is! I don't like to use it right before bed because it seems as if I am wasting that great sensation. That's just my opinion, though.

REVIEW: Barbar Ceramic Eco-8000 Blow Dryer

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am trying to take steps to live a "greener" lifestyle. I admit, my family and I are still learning about eco-friendly products and how using them benefits our family and our environment. Even so, we are committed to doing our part.

I had no idea that a hair dryer could be eco-friendly. I guess I just thought that if I plugged it in and it used energy, it wasn't eco-friendly. (I told you I still have a lot to learn!) When I first read about the energy-efficient Barbar Ceramic Eco-8000 Blow Dryer, I was intrigued.

Upon visiting the Barbar website, I found that this is indeed an eco-friendly product. Very cool indeed.

The Barbar ECO 8000 Blow Dryer uses the latest in technology by having an eco-friendly ceramic heating element, as opposed to all standard dryers that have a coil heating element. The difference is use of electricity & output of radiation. The ECO 8000 has 5.0 mG (milligauss) output radiation. A standard 1,800 WATT dryer has over 200.0 mG! This amount of mG is comparable to the radiation output of a microwave. The ceramic heating element lasts 5x longer than a coil heating element. What did I think of the blow dryer:
The Barbar Eco-8000 is an impressive blow dryer! Even after reading about it, I honestly didn't think that it could dry my mass of thick hair quickly. With only 1,800 watts, surely it would take a long time to completely dry my hair. I was wrong! Not only does this dryer finish the task of drying my hair in under three minutes, it leaves my hair feeling thicker and softer. With the cool shot button, I also end up with a healthy shine to my hair as well. I love that!

Some other great features of the Eco-8000 are the long cord (11 feet!) and the several settings which allow me to adjust the amount of air and the air temperature. This dryer is also quiet, unlike other dryers I have used. In fact, I was able to dry my hair this morning while my kids slept in the room next door without waking them. Aside from those great features, what I love most about this hair dryer is that it saves electricity! That is an important feature for this mama!

Though the Barbar Eco-8000 is attractively designed, the only drawback I found with it is that is a little heavier than other dyers I have used. Fortunately, my drying time has been cut in half, so the weight of the dryer does not bother me.

Bottom line:
Overall, I am more than impressed with the Barbar Eco-8000 Blow Dryer. It performed great and the fact that it is earth friendly makes it even more attractive to me. With a price tag of $150, this dryer is a great option for those wanting an eco-friendly, quality product.

REVIEW: So Cozy Swimmer's Shampoo

During the summer months my family spends a great deal of time at the pool. We love the sunshine, cool water, and fun times with friends. What we don't love is what the chlorine does to our hair.

We have tried numerous shampoos to rid our hair of pool chemicals, but have not been completely happy with any of them, so I was thrilled when I was recently asked if my boys would try So Cozy Swimmer's Shampoo.

I can't stand flu season! All those pesky germs lurking everywhere- just waiting for an unsuspecting human to come in contact with, and them WHAM! - you end up sick.

REVIEW: SKINN Runway Ready Collagen Boost Firming Eyeshadows

REVIEW: Om Aroma & Co.- Luxe Face Collection

I had a conversation with one of my sisters recently about whether or not it was truly necessary to be using anti-aging skincare products at my age. I guess I was in denial because I didn't think that I needed to worry about yet. Heck, I am only 39 years old! Even so, my sister, the skincare product guru, insisted that it was never too early to start caring for my skin. Prevention, she insisted, is the key to success. So, I gave in, and I have begun to research products that would be healthy to use on my face in my quest to delay the aging process.

Mom Fuse came to my rescue and invited me to review some decadent skin care goodies from Om Aroma & Co., a luxury organic spa and skincare product company. The Luxe FACE Collection takes wonderful ingredients like Caviar, Truffles and Champagne and fuses them with organic ingredients to create a line that is not only naturally great for the skin, but has anti-aging results. Champagne and Caviar and Truffles, oh la la!

The Om Aroma & Co. Luxe FACE Collection is available in both regular and travel sizes and includes Elixir de Beautè (a Champagne Facial Cleanser), Extrait de Caviar (a Caviar Eye Cream), and Crème Luxe (a White Truffle Face Creme).

The Elixir de Beautè is a gently exfoliating cleanser. I like how I only need to use a small dab of the cleanser. It cleans my face without feeling harsh, and once I rinse the product, leaves my face feeling soft and refreshed. The Crème Luxe is my favorite of the three products. My skin has never before felt as soft as it does after using this moisturizer! I appreciate that it doesn't leave a greasy residue on my face, and doesn't interfere with my makeup either! I have found that I can only use the Extrait de Caviar at night before bed as it seems to be too heavy a cream for my skin.

Bottom Line: The Om Aroma & Co. Luxe FACE Collection is luxurious and healthy for my skin. I will absolutely continue to use these products.
